What to ask Claude about your Apple Calendar

Once Claude is connected to Apple Calendar, the calendar is something you can ask questions of and give orders to. These requests map onto the seven things Calnio lets Claude do, and each one comes with the limit that decides how to word it.

See what is coming

Try: "What is on my calendar from Monday to Sunday? I am in Berlin." Claude reads the events of every calendar in one go, in order of start, each with the name of its calendar. To look at one calendar, name it: "What is in my Work calendar tomorrow?"

A single read covers at most 366 days and 1000 events. For a busy calendar, ask month by month.

Search every calendar at once

Try: "Find every event with dentist in the title this year." The search goes through all your calendars in one call.

It matches the title and nothing else, not notes or locations. If the word you remember lives in the location, search for the title instead.

Find a free hour

Try: "Where can I fit a one hour call on Thursday afternoon?" Calnio has no free-time tool. Claude reads Thursday's events and works out the gaps itself, so check its answer against the events it read.

Keep the range to a day or two. A short range keeps the answer easy to check.

Add an event

Try: "Add Dentist on Thursday from 14:00 to 15:00 in my Personal calendar." Claude looks up your calendars to get the id of Personal, then adds the event. Name the calendar, or it has to guess or ask.

An all-day event takes plain dates: "Add Mum's birthday on 5 December as an all-day event." The end of an all-day event is the day after its last day, which is how calendars store it, and Claude handles that.

Move or rename an event

Try: "Move the dentist to Friday at 9." Only the fields Claude sends change. Calnio edits the event in place, so alarms and notes you set in Apple Calendar stay on it.

A repeating event, or one with guests, is refused. That stops Claude from emailing your guests or rewriting a series you did not mean to touch.

Delete, with care

Try: "List the events called Test this month, and wait for me to say which to delete." Deleting through the connector cannot be undone. Calnio marks the delete tool as destructive, so a client that asks before risky steps will ask here, but do not lean on that. Have Claude show you the list and say yes yourself.

Two habits that save a round trip

Say where you are at the start of a chat. The tools take times with a UTC offset, and without your time zone Claude has to ask.

Name the calendar whenever you add something, or Claude has to guess where the event goes.

When Notion fills the calendar

If a Calnio sync fills one of your calendars, Claude sees those events like any other, with the page title and the date. With two-way sync on for that sync, moving one of them through Claude changes the date on the Notion page as well. Plan your week with Notion tasks, Apple Calendar and Claude covers that.
