How to connect Apple Calendar to Claude

Claude can read and edit your Apple Calendar once you paste one address into its custom connectors. Calnio makes that address. It points at the iCloud account you already connected and gives Claude seven things to do: list your calendars, list the events in one, list the events in all of them with a search, read one event, add one, change one and delete one. Setup takes about five minutes.

What you need

A Calnio account with Apple Calendar connected. That means an iCloud app-specific password, and how to create one has the screens.

The paid plan or the 7-day trial. The Apple Calendar MCP address is not part of the free plan, and it stops working when a trial ends without a subscription.

A Claude account. Claude's custom connector page, read on 3 November 2026, says the Free plan allows one custom connector, and that on Team and Enterprise an Owner adds it for the organization.

Make the address in Calnio

  1. Open Connections in Calnio and press the Apple Calendar MCP tile.
  2. Press Create address.
  3. Press Copy address. Calnio shows the address once and keeps only a hash of it, so a lost address means making a new one.

The address is calnio.app/mcp/ followed by a long token. The token is the password. Anyone who has the address can use your calendar, so keep it out of chats and screenshots. Pressing Create a new address later stops the old one at once.

Add it to Claude

  1. In Claude on the web or the desktop app, open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Press Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Calnio and paste the address as the server URL.
  4. Leave Authentication on No sign-in. The address already holds your token, so there is nothing to sign in to. If Claude shows an empty row under Request headers, remove it.
  5. Press Add.

Start a new chat, press the + button in the message box and switch Calnio on. Claude lets you turn a connector on or off for each conversation.

On Team and Enterprise the first part differs: an Owner adds the connector under Organization settings, then Connectors, and each member presses Connect on it. Claude's page also warns that a custom connector reaches a service Anthropic has not verified. Here that service is Calnio, and is it safe to give Claude your calendar says what the address can do and what Calnio keeps.

Claude Code and tools that want a header

Some clients take a header instead of a bare address, Claude Code among them. They use calnio.app/mcp with the token in an Authorization header. In Claude Code the command is: claude mcp add --transport http calnio https://calnio.app/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"

That leaves the token in your shell history, so clear the line afterwards on a shared machine.

Check that it works

Ask: "What is on my calendar this week? I am in London." Say where you are. The tools take times with a UTC offset, and Claude has to know your time zone to write one.

Claude should look up your calendars first and then list the events. Back in Calnio, the Apple Calendar MCP window shows the time under Last used, which is the quickest way to see that a request reached Calnio at all.

What it cannot do

It reads every calendar in your Apple account, not only the ones Calnio fills, and it can add, change or delete events in any of them. A calendar Apple keeps read-only, such as a subscription, refuses a write with Apple's own message.

It reads a repeating event or one with guests but never changes or deletes it. A change would email the guests or rewrite a whole series.

One read covers at most 366 days and 1000 events, and the address allows 60 requests a minute. It works with Apple Calendar only, and nothing here touches Google Calendar.

Deleting cannot be undone. Ask Claude to list what it is about to delete and wait for your yes.
